West Ham United FC are set to make the trip to Old Trafford this weekend, for a daunting Premier League showdown with in-form Manchester United.

The Hammers themselves, though, will head into proceedings with hopes of keeping alive a major upturn in form of late.

A 6th win from eight across all competitions on Thursday night guided David Moyes’ troops into the knockout rounds of the Europa Conference League as group winners, with a game to spare.

Back on the domestic front, meanwhile, a 2-0 downing of Bournemouth last weekend saw West Ham, just weeks ago in the thick of the relegation scrap, climb to the heights of mid-table.

Heading to Manchester with spirits high in the camp, who is therefore expected to feature for the capital outfit at Old Trafford?

Predicted West Ham United line-up vs Manchester United

Absentee/doubt list

Lucas Paqueta

Set to miss out for West Ham on Sunday is big-money summer addition Lucas Paqueta.

“He is not available. He won’t be available until next week.”

Jarrod Bowen

Another key piece of the Irons’ attack to have set pulses racing this week, Jarrod Bowen missed the club’s Europa League win over Silkeborg owing to an ankle concern picked up in training.

The English international, as a result, remains a doubt to feature this weekend, albeit with his return to partial training having been confirmed by boss Moyes on Friday:

“We need to see how Jarrod is. We need to see if he can do many things. We need to see if he can twist and turn – all the other parts that come [with playing football].”

Craig Dawson

Described as ‘touch and go’ for West Ham’s trip to the northwest, Craig Dawson was not risked in midweek, as Nayef Aguerd stepped in for a debut appearance in Hammers colours.

The defender is dealing with an ongoing thigh problem, and certainly looks unlikely to feature from the off against Manchester United.

Maxwel Cornet

Last on David Moyes’ list of concerns heading into the weekend is wide-man Maxwel Cornet.

The summer arrival at the London Stadium suffered a fresh setback in his injury recovery earlier this week, with next Thursday’s Conference League meeting with FCSB therefore viewed as a more realistic target for Cornet.
