Relegation-threatened West Ham United have an arduous weekend task ahead of them as they travel across the capital to clash with Antonio Conte’s Tottenham in north London as Premier League survival reminds at the forefront of the Hammers’ thinking of late.

Sitting just two points clear of the bottom three, West Ham has struggled to string together three-point hauls all season long, and though they’re currently on a three-match unbeaten run, few expect a win on the road despite coming up against a Spurs outfit under Conte that have question marks in their own right. Both sides are made to contend with key absences in the middle of the park, and given Tottenham’s inconsistency in front of goal, anything is possible.

West Ham United Team News

  • Out: Maxwel Cornet, Kurt Zouma, Alphonse Aréola, Lucas Paquetá
  • Doubt: Gianluca Scamacca, Aaron Cresswell, Nayef Aguerd

David Moyes must contend with an away day against Tottenham without key central midfielder Lucas Paquetá as well as starting center-back Kurt Zouma, making the task for the Hammers that much more difficult at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Maxwel Cornet and Alphone Aréola also remain absent and unavailable for selection.

Questions surrounding the availability of Gianluca Scamacca, Aaron Cresswell, and Nayef Aguerd also bubble to the surface in the run-up to proceedings this weekend. Aguerd was forced off injured last weekend the same as Paquetá, but the Moroccan defender has a chance to prove his fitness ahead of the capital derby, while Cresswell and Scamacca are doubts at the time of writing, with no indication if they will be available.
