Thomas Tuchel, head coach at Premier League giants Chelsea, has provided a fresh insight into his future with the club.
German tactician Tuchel has, of course, been on the books in west London since January of last year.
After calling time on his stint in France with Paris Saint-Germain, the one-time defender was chosen by the powers that be at Chelsea as the man to replace club legend Frank Lampard.
And what a decision it subsequently proved.
Less than six months on, Tuchel had brought European glory back to the Bridge, leading Chelsea to just a 2nd Champions League title in the club’s famed history.
The Blues, in turn, went on to clinch both the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in 2021/22, too.
Speaking to the media ahead of Chelsea’s meeting with Leeds this weekend, Tuchel was drawn on the subject of contract negotiations between he and the board in west London.
This comes with his current terms due to expire in the summer of 2024.
And the ex-Borussia Dortmund boss went on to confirm that talks are now underway, with a view to extending his spell in England’s capital for the long-term:
