Villarreal have confirmed that the loan move which sees Arnaut Danjuma move to Tottenham will include an option to buy the player at the end of the spell.

The 25-year-old has scored just twice in 10 La Liga appearances for the Yellow Submarine this season in what has been a disappointing season, though he scored 16 goals in 34 appearances last campaign.

Initially thought to be Everton bound, the Lilywhites pounced on a deal at the 11th hour, after medicals and promo work had already taken place with the Toffees, and the Dutchman has since been unveiled as the latest Spurs addition, becoming their first signing of the January transfer window.

Danjuma will provide further cover for the underperforming Heung-Min Son, while he can also play across the frontline and will join Richarlison as another option for Antonio Conte to rotate his current front three with.

And, though it was not disclosed by the Lilywhites, there is in fact an option to buy the player should he prove a success in north London, with Spanish outlet Relevo reporting that said option sits at around 40m euros (£35m).

It is a tried and tested route for Antonio Conte’s side, who have managed to snare both Cristian Romero and Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus in the same manner across the last 18 months, and will be hoping that Danjuma proves equally effective value for money come the end of the season.
