Chelsea have spent over £1bn in the previous three transfer windows.
However, their form and league position has not reflected that.
The Blues finished in the bottom half last season and are currently 14th in the table in 2022/23.
Now, Pochettino has revealed that he is more involved in the planning of making signings.
Asked whether he wants to sign a striker after Nicolas Jackson’s struggles in front of goal, Pochettino said: “The good thing is the relationship and communication is very good with the sporting directors and owners.
“When the transfer window was closed I said I need to be more involved now in all the decisions. I have started to work to identify what we need for January.
“Also, parallel to identifying or finding profiles to improve the team, the way we want to assess the team during the competition. But, of course, we have already started to work.”
