Juventus have made an early move for relegated fullback Timothy Castagne this summer as they look to beat Arsenal and Liverpool to the signing of the defender.

The Old Lady are on the hunt for a fullback after letting Alex Sandro leave the club on a free transfer, while Juan Cuadrado is expected to follow him out of the exit door in Turin.

It means that Max Allegri’s side, who are set for UEFA Conference League football next season after a points deduction saw them drop out of a Champions League spot, will be looking to add at least one more option on the flanks this summer.

One of those options being considered is versatile fullback Castagne, with the Leicester City man thought to be available for just 15m euros this summer after the Foxes were relegated from the top flight.

Capable of playing both as a wing back or a traditional fullback on either flank, the 27-year-old has previously caught the eye of Liverpool and more recently Arsenal, with the Gunners rumoured to have made the Belgian their second choice option at right back behind teenage talent Ivan Fresneda.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, however, they are set to miss out with a return to Serie A most likely.

It leaves both Liverpool and the Gunners in need of another option in that position, with both sides still keen to strengthen at fullback ahead of the new season.
