World Cup winner and former Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos reportedly turned down a move to Manchester United in the final days of the transfer window, in a move that saw Erik ten Hag’s side sign Jonny Evans on a 12 month deal instead.
Ramos has been a free agent since leaving Paris Saint Germain over the summer, and is thought to have had offers from Saudi Arabia, the MLS and several clubs around Europe.
He eventually announced his return to boyhood club Sevilla over the weekend, 18 years after leaving them for Real Madrid.

In doing so, he is believed to have turned down a deal that would have netted him 15x his Sevilla salary from a Saudi club, but that is not the only side he rejected.
According to the Daily Mail, the former Galactico ‘snubbed last-minute interest from Manchester United’ in his services, with it being added that the club were ‘upset’ by how fast he turned down a move to Old Trafford.
Allegedly, the Red Devils wasted too much time offering a deal, before finally coming to the table with an offer consisting of a one-year deal worth £73,000 per week for the 37-year-old.
Ten Hag also has the possibility of using Harry Maguire at centre-back, who refused a move away this summer and is likely to have to be re-integrated into the squad following injury to Raphael Varane.
