Tottenham Hotspur announced on Wednesday that Antonio Conte had undergone gallbladder surgery.

The Italian coach had been experiencing abdominal pains and was diagnosed with cholecystitis.

The surgery has been a success and he is already making a swift recovery, with his expected return date already being anticipated…

Conte’s expected return date

Antonio Conte could be back on the Tottenham bench sooner than expected.

The usual recovery time from gallbladder surgery is four to six weeks.

But according to Corriere dello Sport, is expected to return to the Tottenham bench against either Leicester City on February 11 or AC Milan on February 14.

“Thank you for your lovely messages, my surgery has gone well and I’m already feeling better.

“Now it’s time to recover, I can’t wait to get back on the field with the team.”

Spurs face Manchester City on the weekend and his assistant Cristian Stellini is set to take charge of the team.
