It has been revealed that Chelsea paid a world-record fee for Graham Potter to lure him away from Brighton earlier in the season, far more than had initially been reported.
The Blues turned to Potter in September after they parted ways with Thomas Tuchel just weeks into the Premier League season.
He has since endured a mixed spell in charge at Stamford Bridge, and was at one point in danger of facing the sack, but has since managed to win three of his last four games at the helm.
Potter has overseen a massive overhaul at the club, with the Blues having spent over £500m in the last two transfer windows, and brought eight new faces into the club in January at a total cost of £300m.
But it is not just on the playing staff that Chelsea splashed out on, with Brighton records showing that the received a mammoth £21.5m to take Potter out of the south coast side.
It is believed to be a world record fee for any managerial appointment, in addition to the British record fee that they paid for Enzo Fernandez on transfer deadline day.

The Gabon star has since all but disappeared from the Blues squad, and turned up in the Barcelona dressing room after their El Clasico win at the weekend, just 24 hours after Chelsea had drawn to Everton.
With Potter’s job now more secure, he will be looking forward to having an opportunity to trim the squad in the summer before continuing Chelsea’s massive spending spree.
