Manchester United star Antony has, on Thursday, seen allegations of abuse on the part of two more women made public.
The name of wide-man Antony, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the media headlines across the week to date.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the former Ajax standout had been dropped from the latest Brazilian national team squad, amid accusations of physical abuse on the part of ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin.
Antony, for his part, has vehemently denied the claims to date.
Manchester United, meanwhile, released a public statement on Wednesday, confirming that they are ‘taking this matter seriously’:
“Manchester United acknowledges the allegations made against Antony and notes that the police are conducting enquiries. Pending further information, the club will be making no further comments.

It will therefore no doubt come as a major source of concern for all associated with the Red Devils to hear that, on Thursday, fresh allegations against the club’s big-money winger, on the part of two women, have been made public.
As per a report from James Ducker of the Daily Telagraph:
‘Rayssa de Freitas and Ingrid Lana, have followed Antony’s former girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin in making allegations against him.’
United, for the time being, have declined to comment on the new allegations.
The powers that be on the red half of Manchester have been advised to ‘proceed cautiously’, with Antony now at the centre of police enquiries in both Brazil and the UK.
