Manchester United star Casemiro has, late on Friday, seen his long-standing efforts on the international stage rewarded.
For those not aware, the Brazilian national team are set to return to action tomorrow afternoon.
In the nation’s first fixture of the latest international break, the Selecao will make the trip to the Ibn Batouta Stadium, for a friendly meeting with African giants Morocco.
The clash marks the first of the reign of current interim head coach Ramon Menezes, who stepped in to replace the departing Tite on the back of the Qatar World Cup.
And, as alluded to above, one player in line to play a central role under Menezes’ watch, it would appear, comes in the form of midfield standout Casemiro.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Manchester United enforcer Casemiro was drawn on the challenge awaiting Brazil against Morocco, and went on to reveal that he has been chosen as the country’s latest captain.

“There are several ways of thinking,” Casemiro began. “We had Thiago Silva [as captain] in the World Cup but, on my part, I feel prepared. I prepared myself for this and I am thankful for the trust.
“If it’s another captain, no problem because I know I am one of the leaders and I have complete freedom to speak as a captain before the group.”
