Liverpool are putting the finishing touches to their second signing of the summer as they are set to sign Hungarian star Dominik Szoboszlai in a deal worth 70m euros.
The RB Leipzig midfielder, who managed six goals and eight assists in the Bundesliga last season, had a release clause that expired on June 30th totalling 70m euros, and had been linked with Newcastle United.
However, it was the Reds that decided to activate that clause in the final hours of it being avaulable, with the 22-year-old agreeing personal terms with Jurgen Klopp’s side to become their second midfield addition following the arrival of Alexis Mac Allister last month.

Set to cost the Reds £60.1m, he will certainly come in with plenty of expectation surrounding him, and will be tasked with getting Liverpool back into the Champions League after a disappointing campaign saw them miss out on Europe’s Premier Competition last time around.
The 22-year-old is the fourth most expensive signing in Liverpool’s history, with all of those above him having come in the Jurgen Klopp era.
Only goalkeeper Alisson, centre-back Virgil van Dijk and summer signing from last season Darwin Nunez boast heftier transfer fees than Szoboszlai.
