No fewer than three key members of the first-team setup at Leeds United are primed to miss the start of the fast-approaching season, according to reports.

Leeds, like the rest of The Championship’s clubs, are currently in the process of ramping up preparations for the 2023/24 campaign.

After failing to stave off relegation back to the 2nd tier of English football, Daniel Farke’s side will now be tasked with securing an immediate bounce-back promotion to the Premier League.

The Whites’ hopes of as much, though, have already been dented by way of a series of high-profile exits.

To this point in the summer, all of Rodrigo, Robin Koch, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca and Brenden Aaronson have all moved on in one form or another.

In turn, it will come as a heavy blow to all associated with Leeds to hear that, of those to have stayed put at Elland Road, three are expected to sit out the opening weeks of the new term.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, new Peacocks boss Farke provided updates on the wellbeing of all three, with both Harrison and Adams, concerningly, looking set to be sidelined until September:

“Jack Harrison and Tyler Adams are still on their way back. They are still doing their rehab so they will definitely miss the start of the season. It’s a bit too early to judge when they will be back. I expect to perhaps be back after the first international break.

“Obviously, Jack and Tyler, top-class players and top characters so not easy for us to start without them. That’s the reality.”

On left-back Firpo, meanwhile, Farke added:

“He’s out with an injury of a ligament, he’ll definitely be out for the next five weeks. He will also definitely miss the start of the season.”
