Mikel Arteta spoke to the media on Friday afternoon ahead of Arsenal’s Community Shield clash with Manchester City.
Arsenal head into the game looking to get one over on the Sky Blues after they beat the Gunners to the Premier League title last season.
Arsenal have spent around £200m so far this summer as they look to close the gap on Pep Guardiola’s side.
Ahead of Sunday’s game, Mikel Arteta was asked to provide an update on the injured Gabriel Jesus and said: “He’s fine. He’s obviously disappointed because he was feeling good and then this issue came up. Nobody expected that we would need to do it.”
The Spaniard then gave a brief update on Bukayo Saka, who had picked up a slight issue but is seemingly fine now: “Yeah Bukayo is much better, he trained today.”
Arteta also provided an insight into how Arsenal will use Kai Havertz. When asked what the German’s best position is, he replied: “Well he’s played the majority at the moment as an attacking midfielder. We will see. The team gives you a lot of information every day and some connections that you didn’t expect. It’s natural.”
