Robert Lewandowski and his agent are set for a final showdown meeting with Bayern Munich on Thursday, in which the Pole will hand in a transfer request, according to reports.

This comes amid reported interest in the lethal forward from Barcelona, who have already added veteran forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to their side. Lewandowski came second in the Ballon d’Or voting for 2021, and has continued to excel this season, scoring 33 times in 31 Bundesliga outings.

The Pole also recorded 13 goals in 10 Champions League appearances, though his side’s run in the competition came to an abrupt end at the hands of Villarreal.

But, with his contract up in 2023, and still no sign of a new deal in Bavaria, Lewandowski has perhaps understandably begun to look elsewhere.

Ready to hand in transfer request

As per French outlet RMC Sport, Lewa is readying a transfer request as he looks to make a move to Barcelona this summer, with a meeting scheduled for Thursday ahead of a final round of talks. Should nothing be agreed, it is thought that the Polish icon will be able to make his move this summer if a suitable offer comes in.

Quite what that offer would need to be for a man seemingly unable to stop scoring goals but now 33 years old remains to be seen, but should Barcelona be able to pull of the deal, it would represent a massive coup for the Blaugrana.
