Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, on Saturday, secured for themselves yet another piece of noteworthy club history.
City, for those not aware, marked their return to action a short time ago.
Fresh off a Premier League opening day drubbing of Burnley, the Sky Blues set about making it six points from six, at the expense of Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.
And, when all was said and done at The Etihad, this is precisely what Guardiola and co. went on to do.
A solitary goal proved all that was needed to put Newcastle to the sword, netted by Julian Alvarez in emphatic fashion just beyond the half-hour mark:

What a strike from the World Cup winner! 🚀

And, as alluded to above, in the process, Guardiola’s record-breaking City side etched their names ever further into the history books on the blue half of Manchester.
This is the most ever managed by a Man City outfit, across the club’s storied 140-year history.
