Rodrigo Bentancur is expected back in November at the earliest, according to Sky Sports News.
The 25-year-old has successfully undergone surgery on his knee.
The long road to full fitness now begins for him as he aims to return at some stage next season.
Tottenham have plenty of strong midfield options in Hojbjerg and Bissouma, whilst Skipp and Sarr have shown much promise.
But this season, Bentancur has been one of Spurs’ top performers and regardless of replacements, his absence is huge.
