Liverpool star Mohamed Salah will not be leaving the club this summer, despite strong interest from Saudi Arabia, the winger’s agent has claimed.
The Reds forward has been subject to interest from Al-Ittihad, who are reportedly willing to pay him a massive 180m euros per year to make the increasingly regular move from Europe to the middle east this summer.
Teammates Fabinho and Jordan Henderson have already completed the switch, along with stars from across the Premier League including Ruben Neves, Kalidou Koulibaly and Alan Saint-Maximin.
Still one of the best players in the Premier League, Salah would be a major coup for the division and was one of the main names that they wanted to approach over a move this summer.
However, they have been met with a clear response. The 31-year-old will not be leaving Anfield, and his agent took to social media to confirm the news.
“If we considered leaving Liverpool this year, we wouldn’t have renewed the contract at the club last summer”, Ramy Abbas tweeted.
The Egyptian will be hoping to improve on last season, which saw Liverpool miss out on Champions League football despite him scoring 19 times and grabbing 12 assists in the top flight.
To do that, they have added Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister to their ranks for a total outlay of just over £100m, while they also remain locked in talks with Southampton over a potential move for Belgian teenage star Romeo Lavia, though their latest £45m is thought to have been rejected.
Jurgen Klopp’s side kick off their Premier League campaign with a tricky tie against a new-look Chelsea side, who will also be looking to lay down a marker of improvement early on in the season after their 12th placed finish last time out.
