Tottenham are preparing a massive £50m offer for Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson as they look to bolster their ranks in a post-Harry Kane world, it has been claimed.

Heading into the final week of the transfer window, the Lilywhites are yet to sign anyone since selling Harry Kane to Bayern Munich, but are expected to be busy right up until the transfer deadline.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have started the season brightly, but are still on the hunt for another defender and another forward before the window slams shut, with options below Richarlison thin on the ground to lead the line, and the same being the case behind first-choice centre-back pairing Cristian Romero and Mickey van de Ven.

Now, the Telegraph claim that the north London outfit are looking to fix that with a move for Forest’s Johnson, who has also been on Chelsea’s radar this summer after they failed to land Michael Olise.

The Welshman, who has started all three of Forest’s Premier League games so far this season, is thought to be set to cost around £50m should serious bids come in, with Forest having already turned down two bids from Brentford.

It is reported that ‘Tottenham could offer cash plus players, with centre-half Davinson Sanchez and winger Bryan Gil likely to be two players who could be part of any deal’, while Spurs would not want to pay any more than £40m up front ‘plus guaranteed instalments’ to get their man this summer should a player swap not work.
