Leeds United return to Premier League action with a tough trip to Premier League leaders Arsenal as they look to put together a run of results to avoid dropping out of the top flight.

The Yorkshire side lifted themselves out of the relegation zone and all the way up to 14th with a win just before the break, beating fellow relegation candidates Wolves 4-2 in an end-to-end affair.

But they still sit just two points clear of the drop zone, and travel to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal for their next tie, who won the reverse fixture at Elland Road 1-0 in October.

Here’s how we expect them to line up in north London, and the latest team news from the Leeds camp.

Predicted XI

Team News

Javi Gracia will have to make the trip to north London without three of his most important players after a bruising international break for the Yorkshire side.

Tyler Adams, the Leeds United captain, was forced to pull out of international duty with a hamstring injury that he picked up in a training session before their win over Wolves, and a complication has left him needing to undergo surgery, which the Athletic report will ‘rule him out of a longer stretch of the Premier League run-in’.

Meanwhile, January addition and new defensive stalwart Maximilian Wober pulled his hamstring while on duty with Austria, forcing him to return to Elland Road early.

On the pair, Gracia offered no assurances. ‘I’m sorry, but I cannot clarify because I don’t know. What I know is they’re out for this game. I think it will be more time, one week more, two weeks; it depends on their evolution’, he told the media.

Stuart Dallas and Adam Forshaw are also injured, leaving Leeds down to the barebones of their squad.
