Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney purchased Wrexham in February of 2021 for around £2m.
After a vote from the Wrexham Supporters Trust to grant the duo ownership, Reynolds and McElhenney then invested a further £10m into the club.
During the pair’s first full season at the club, Wrexham finished 2nd in the National League, missing out on promotion in the Nation League play-offs after losing to Grimsby Town in the semi-final.
This season, though, the Welsh outfit are not expected to need to fight it out in the play-offs.
Wrexham sit top of the National League with 103 points after 42 games. Their closest challengers, Notts County, have 100 points but have played one more game, with the recent meeting between the pair – which Wrexham won – potentially key to Wrexham securing promotion to League Two for the 2023/24 season.
Now, Reynolds has revealed he has desires to purchase another sports team.
However, it’s not an easy deal to do, particularly because of the costs involved. “I am trying to do it,” Reynolds said on ‘The Tonight Show’ in November.
“But it’s very expensive. I need a partner with very deep pockets.”
