After picking up four points from their first two games, the Netherlands only needed a draw to ensure they finished top of their group.
Qatar, meanwhile, were already out having lost their opening two group matches.
Netherlands were heavy favourites to pick up a win, and when all was said and done, the Dutch side came away with a comfortable win.
It was a slow start for the Netherlands, but they opened the scoring 26 minutes in after Cody Gakpo’s side-footed effort from the edge of the box nestled into the bottom corner.
Netherlands made it 2-0 minutes into the second half. Klaassen’s cross took a deflection before falling to Depay. His effort was saved but the deflection allowed Frenkie de Jong to stab in unmarked.

Qatar showed a bit more attacking threat following the second goal but lacked the creativity to create much. They then brought on Mohammed Muntari, the only man to score a World Cup goal for their country.
