Saturday’s Premier League action ends with Manchester City playing host to Newcastle United at 8 pm.
Both sides got off to fantastic starts this season, with Man City dispatching Burnley and Newcastle hammering Aston Villa.

GK: Ederson – Newcastle’s Nick Pope has the ability to rival Ederson as a shot-stopper, but the Brazilian’s composure when playing with the ball at his feet gives him the edge.
RB: Kieran Trippier – Kyle Walker could easily make this XI with very few complaints, but given Trippier’s attacking threat from set pieces and down the right flank, on top of his defensive ability, he just about takes it.
CB: Sven Botman – Botman has been one of the main reasons Newcastle have had one of the best defensive records in England over the last year. He is a very well-rounded stopper who perhaps does not get the recognition he deserves due to him not playing for a traditional top-six team.
LB: Nathan Ake – Both Newcastle and Man City use natural centre-backs at left-back now and whilst Dan Burn has been solid, Nathan Ake has been sensational in his new role, even when up against some of the best wingers in Europe.
CM: Rodri – Sandro Tonalli showed promise on his Newcastle debut last week, but Rodri is a more proven PL talent who also scored and assisted one vs Burnley.
CM: Phil Foden – The one thing lacking from Newcastle’s midfield currently is a creative outlet. City have no such issue as even though Kevin De Bruyne is now sidelined, Phil Foden is expected to step up and earn a regular place as a central midfielder in City’s XI.
CM: Bruno Guimares – Bruno Guimares is one of the most well-rounded central midfielders in the Premier League and the arrival of the aforementioned Tonalli should allow the Brazilian to showcase more of his attacking flair this season.
RW: Miguel Almiron – Man City remain without a natural right-winger after the sale of Riyad Mahrez, whilst Almiron had his best season in the PL last term, scoring 11 and assisting two in 34 games.
ST: Erling Haaland – 36 goals last season, two in the opening game of 2023/24, Erling Haaland is the best striker in England.
LW: Jack Grealish – Harvey Barnes showed promise on his debut for Newcastle when he scored twice vs Aston Villa but Jack Grealish’s 2022/23 displays earn him a spot in this side.
