Newcastle and Liverpool clashed in the Premier League on Sunday as the pair battle it out for a European place.
The Magpies got one over on Liverpool last season, pipping them to a European place.
As a result, Sunday’s game was expected to have a big impact on the top-four rankings come May.
When all was said and done in the North East, Liverpool picked up the win.
Trent Alexander-Arnold should have been sent off for a second yellow card after six minutes but the referee decided not to show one for whatever reason.
Luis Diaz forced the first good save of the day out of Nick Pope 16 minutes in following an impressive run.

Liverpool were then shown a red card after 27 minutes when Virgil van Dijk, the last man, kicked through Alexander Isak.
Alisson made a great stop to prevent Miguel Almiron’s powerful effort going in after 35 minutes but the writing did look to be on the wall for Liverpool.
The Newcastle winger then should have made it 2-0 54 minutes in but he put his effort wide.
Liverpool struggled to create much in the second half but Sven Botman was forced to make a big block to deny Mo Salah after 66 minutes. Almiron then hit the post 10 minutes later.
And after many wasted chances from Newcastle, Darwin Nunez came off the bench and equalised in the 80th minute.

Match reaction
Trent Alexander-Arnold gets booked for throwing the ball away.
And then immediately takes out Anthony Gordon.
He surely has to be shown a second yellow for that?
