Premier League giants Manchester United have, on Thursday, been dealt a concerning piece of news on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that a key member of the Red Devils’ summer recruitment drive is struggling with injury.

The player in question? Sofyan Amrabat.

Midfielder Amrabat, of course, finally put pen to paper on terms at Old Trafford last week.

On the back of weeks of speculation, the powers that be on the red half of Manchester finally struck an agreement with their counterparts at Fiorentina, over an expensive season-long loan deal, featuring the option to buy next summer.

Amrabat was not cleared in time to mark his debut last Sunday, when his new teammates made the trip to north London for a Premier League meeting with Arsenal.

But, as alluded to above, if the latest news emerging online late on Thursday is anything to go by, then the Reds faithful may well need to be patient when it comes to Amrabat’s potential bow in the club’s colours.

This comes with the 27-year-old struggling with an injury.

As confirmed in an official statement on the part of the Moroccan Football Association late this evening, Amrabat has been replaced in their latest squad by Yahya Jeeran:

“The national team coach, Mr. Walid Regragui, has summoned the player, Yahya Jeeran, to replace the injured Sofyan Amrabat,” it was announced.

The extent of the issue is yet to be revealed.
