The latest word stemming from the media regarding the managerial plans of Spanish giants Real Madrid will no doubt come as a concern for the powers that be at Tottenham Hotspur.

This comes amid suggestions that Los Blancos have set their sights on Mauricio Pochettino.

The subject of the situation on the bench in north London, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines across the week to date.

This comes after the Spurs hierarchy were forced to kick their search for a long-term solution to the club’s managerial woes back into gear.

With just two months remaining in the campaign, Antonio Conte was sent on his way last weekend, on the back of a remarkable rant which saw the Italian take aim at the Lilywhites’ players, owner and culture as a whole.

Daniel Levy and co, as a result, have already begun planning for next season, ahead of the predicted appointment of a new permanent head coach in north London in the summer.

If the latest word doing the rounds online late on Thursday is anything to go by, however, then hopes of landing the latter of this trio could soon be in line for a heavy blow.

As per a mounting number of reports across the Spanish media, Real Madrid have set their sights firmly on Pochettino as the long-term replacement for current boss Carlo Ancelotti.

Los Blancos are soon expected to bid farewell to their legendary head coach, with Pochettino, by all accounts, having been earmarked as the clear first-choice option to follow him into the Santiago Bernabeu hotseat.

Not only that, but the Argentine himself is understood to be prepared to wait it out for Florentino Perez’s call.
