Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur have, on Saturday, confirmed the trio of players set to take up captain and vice-captain responsibilities at the club over the season ahead.
The subject of the captain’s armband, of course, has emerged as a major talking point on the Lilywhite half of north London over the course of the last 24 hours.
This comes after confirmation was forthcoming that Harry Kane had come to the long-awaited decision to bring a close to the Spurs chapter of his career.

With Hugo Lloris having also left England’s capital in the rear view mirror this summer, new boss Ange Postecoglou was therefore left with a major decision to make, regarding which player would lead his side into the 2023/23 campaign.
And, as alluded to above, on Saturday evening, confirmation of this decision has been forthcoming.
As per an official statement across Tottenham’s website and social media platforms:
‘Sonny, 31, takes over the captain’s armband from Hugo Lloris, who first captained the team in 2014/15 and was named skipper for the start of 2015/16 – Sonny’s first season at Spurs.’
Defender Cristian Romero and summer signing James Maddison, meanwhile, have been appointed as Ange Postecoglou’s co-vice-captains.
