Former Barcelona striker Sergio Aguero has, on Friday, revealed his frustration with the club, over their fruitless pursuit of Lionel Messi.
The subject of Messi’s future, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of the last 48 hours.
This comes after Barca’s public efforts to lure the club’s greatest-ever player back to the Camp Nou were confirmed to have come up short.
Messi, instead, has opted to leave European football behind, taking his talents to the United States to line out for MLS outfit Inter Miami.

The news, understandably, came as a heavy blow to all associated with the Blaugrana, after a host of high-profile individuals at the club made clear their hopes of a reunion with a view to the 2023/24 campaign.
And, as alluded to above, one individual who has not been at all shy in taking aim at the Barcelona brass in the aftermath of Messi’s announcement comes in the form of Sergio Aguero.
Not only that, but he too thinks that Messi ‘made the correct decision’ not to wait for his ex-employers to get their finances in order.
Agüero: “Barcelona didn’t do enough for Leo’s return. Yes, there was a La Liga thing and an economic situation, but Leo made the correct decision to not to wait until the last second like in 2021.” pic.twitter.com/mgzUIN0o5i
