The delicate situation in the dressing room at French giants Paris Saint-Germain appears to have taken a turn for the worse this weekend.

This, unsurprisingly, comes amid fresh controversy surrounding the name of Kylian Mbappe.

Frontman Mbappe has of course dominated the headlines at the Parc des Princes across the summer to date, after informing the powers that be at his long-time club that he has no intention of extending his current terms, ahead of their expiration in the summer of 2024.

This decision is understood to have left a sour taste in the mouths of the powers that be at PSG, who have long viewed their talismanic attacker as something of a club cornerstone.

And, if the latest word stemming from the media late on Saturday is anything to go by, then the discontent with Mbappe’s recent behaviour now appears to have spread beyond the boardroom, to the dressing room.

As per a report from RMC Sport, comments made by the 24-year-old during an interview with France Football last month have given rise to a heavy backlash amongst his teammates.

Amongst them, Mbappe branded PSG a ‘divisive’ club, which inevitably hits its glass ceiling when lining out in the Champions League.

RMC point towards such claims being regarded as altogether disrespectful by many in France’s capital, culminating in no fewer than six members of incoming boss Luis Enrique’s squad making contact with club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, to make their frustrations known.

One such message, it is understood, featured the unwavering statement:

“It is an insult to the club.”

Could such unrest play directly into the hands of Spanish giants Real Madrid, amid their ongoing pursuit of Mbappe’s signature?
