Match report
Premier League outfit West Ham United made it two wins from two to kick off their European campaign on Thursday night, courtesy of a hard-fought downing of Danish outfit Silkeborg.
David Moyes’ troops were back in action a short time ago.
After putting FCSB to the sword by three goals to one in the club’s Europa Conference League opener last week, the Irons, this evening, made the trip to Denmark, for a group stage meeting with the aforementioned Silkeborg.
And, when all was said and done, West Ham, once more, showed their class.
A hard-fought 90 minutes, featuring five goals, ultimately gave rise to a 3-2 final scoreline.
It was actually the evening’s hosts who opened the scoring at JYSK Park, upon Kasper Kusk slotting home at the near post at the end of a flowing team move.
First up was Manuel Lanzini, who stepped up to slot home from the penalty spot, levelling things up inside the 15-minute mark.
Gianluca Scamacca then stole the show courtesy of a stunning driven finish midway through the first-half, before Craig Dawson’s header put West Ham all but out of sight shortly before the interval.
What a hit!! 🤩

Soren Tengstedt did manage to pull one back for Silkeborg late on, but, upon the final whistle bringing a close to the action in Denmark, it was the evening’s visitors who emerged with all three points, solidifying their spot atop the Group B table.

Defensively we’ve not been great, but Cornet, Paqueta and Scamacca need to be starting together week in, week out and I won’t hear otherwise
