Newcastle United Team News

  • Out: Miguel Almirón, Emil Krafth, Ryan Fraser
  • Doubt: N/A

Sitting third in the table and looking like a side ready to clash with the best Europe has to offer, Newcastle United’s journey under Eddie Howe continues to make incremental gains on Tyneside after the club has now embarked on another undefeated run; this time, a four-match winning streak.

Level on points with Manchester United but ahead on goal difference, there is likely no pathway to second for the Magpies, but will still have their work cut out for them if they are to remain in the top four. A tough task at home against Brentford awaits Howe and company, but thankfully, no new injury concerns have greeted Howe during his final preparations. Swedish defender Emil Krafth is still on the sideline thanks to an injury, while Scottish midfielder Ryan Fraser continues to be ostracized and training with the U21s. Paraguayan star Miguel Almirón is a big loss for the club and will likely be out until May on account of a thigh injury. Few if any changes are expected.
