A fresh, and potentially telling update in the prospective takeover of Premier League giants Manchester United has been confirmed on Thursday evening.
The news surrounds a new offer landing on the desks of current owners the Glazers.
As confirmed by a hosts of sources, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has stepped up his efforts to take control of proceedings at Old Trafford by way of an improved bid.
“Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS can confirm we have submitted a revised bid,” a spokesperson since revealed when drawn on the subject.
Ratcliffe, of course, is currently viewed as one of two frontrunners to shift the Glazer brothers from their spot at the head of the table at Manchester United.
Alongside fellow interested party Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar, the English businessman was therefore afforded additional time to move forward with a stronger offer after Wednesday’s initial deadline for bids was extended.
It now remains to be seen whether his latest offer proves to be a more effective one
