Manchester United completed the season-long loan signing of Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat on transfer deadline day.
Man United have paid a loan fee of €10m and have the option to buy the player for an additional €20m plus add-ons.
With Mason Mount injured and Manchester United’s midfield struggling, Amrabat is expected to feature heavily for his new club after the current international break.
Amrabat has opted to take the no.4 shirt at Manchester United, as confirmed by the club: “Now that the formalities have been finalised, we can announce that Amrabat will wear the no.4 shirt at United. Our no.4 shirt was most recently worn by Phil Jones, who left the club this summer when his contract expired.”
And now, the midfielder has taken to social media to send a message to the fans.
Taking to Instagram, Amrabat wrote: “Honoured and so proud to join this huge club, a club full of history and passion! It’s a dream to represent this shirt and I will give absolutely everything to defend this badge. I can’t wait to step foot on the pitch at the Theatre of Dreams, my new home. Thank you to all the fans for the warm welcome, let’s make this a season to remember!”
