The latest social media activity on the part of Manchester United star Lisandro Martinez has piqued attentions on Sunday.

The name of Argentine international Martinez has of course taken its place centre stage in the headlines once more late this evening.

This comes amid widespread, and altogether deserved praise for the summer arrival at Old Trafford, for his latest display.

Erik ten Hag’s troops welcomed West Ham to Manchester a short time ago, ultimately emerging on the right side of a 1-0 scoreline owing to a fine header on the part of Marcus Rashford.

At the other end, though, it was the heroics of Martinez, alongside Diogo Dalot and David de Gea, which truly made the difference in guiding the Red Devils over the line.

The 24-year-old has of course already established himself as something of a fan favourite amongst the Man United faithful, with the club’s backline having, before this season, so long been crying out for a player in possession of Martinez’s controlled aggression and leadership qualities.

For those not aware, a sizable banner, recognising Martinez’s talents, was recently banned from Old Trafford.

The banner in question features a large butcher’s knife, on a background of the Argentinian national flag, in homage to the defender’s nickname, ‘The Butcher’.

After coming across a post showcasing the flag on social media on Sunday night, though, Martinez was nevertheless quick to respond.

Re-posting the image to his official Instagram account, the no-nonsense stopper made use of simple accompanying caption, as follows:
