Thomas Tuchel will not be present on the Bayern Munich bench when they face Manchester United in their 2023/24 Champions League opener.
This is because the German coach is serving a one-match suspension, and as a result, he will not be present in the Bayern dugout in their Champions League group stage opener against Manchester United on Wednesday.
Tuchel was sent off when Bayern Munich played in a Champions League fixture against Manchester City in the second leg of their 2022/23 quarter-final clash in Munich.
Bayern missing Tuchel may give Manchester United a boost as they face off with their toughest opponent from their CL group.
The Red Devils have been drawn alongside Bayern, Copenhagen and Galatasaray in Group A.
On paper, Manchester United should be able to at least secure second spot in that group but finishing 1st does generally mean an easier draw in the knockout stages, which is something Erik ten Hag will be keen to have as he looks to pick up his second trophy as Man United manager.
