Spanish champions Real Madrid, have, late on Thursday evening, been dealt an alarming blow on the personnel front.
Carlo Ancelotti’s troops, of course, are currently locked in action.
After watching Clasico and title rivals Barcelona surge a full eight points clear at the La Liga summit courtesy of a 2-1 downing of Real Betis on Wednesday, Real welcomed Valencia to the Bernabeu, eyeing a return to winning ways.
And, as things stand in in Spain’s capital, all three points is precisely what the evening’s hosts are headed towards.
This comes owing to a stunning left-footed strike on the part of Marco Asensio early in the 2nd-half of play:

As alluded to above, though, amid what has proven an otherwise positive night’s work to date for Real, one major source of concern has too been forthcoming, on the personnel front.
The Brazilian, in turn, was forced into an immediate departure from the action, ahead of a likely spell on the treatment table over the weeks ahead.
