Southampton Team News

  • Out: Ché Adams, Mohammed Salisu, Juan Larios, Tino Livramento
  • Doubt: Jan Bednarek

Rubén Sellés’ Southampton showed their potential against Arsenal last time out after fighting to a 3-3 draw at the Emirates Stadium. Though Saints let the lead slip in what would have been a massive three points toward the possibility of avoiding relegation, a point away at the pacesetters while scoring three goals is something to build on moving into the midweek program against fellow south coast side Bournemouth.

Saints have six matches left to close the four-point gap while enacting a great escape from the bottom three if they are to survive in the top flight another season, but a handful of selection issues could stand in their way of a result in front of home support at St. Mary’s Stadium.

Striker Ché Adams is ruled out of contention due to injury, as are Mohamed Salisu and Juan Larios. Young right-back Tino Livramento is nearing a return to first-team duties after missing the entire 2022-23 season, but this comes too soon for him. Key center-back Jan Bednarek faces a late assessment after being subbed off early against Arsenal due to a suspected concussion but may be available for selection.
