It is a huge tie for both sides with a spot in the Champions League next season potentially on the line.

Newcastle are 4th with 56 points heading into the gameweek, whilst Tottenham are 5th with 53 points. And as Spurs have played one more game than the Magpies, they really need a win to keep their top-four hopes alive.

Here is 101GreatGoals’ combined XI ahead of the game.

Newcastle vs Tottenham XI

GK: Nick Pope

Newcastle have the best defensive record in the Premier League this season, shipping just 24 goals in 30 games and Nick Pope is one of the main reasons why.

CB: Cristian Romero

CB: Sven Botman

With such a solid backline this season, it makes sense to have Newcastle’s main centre-back duo in the XI, with Botman one of said duo.

CB: Fabian Schar

Both Botman and Schar have been in top form in 2022/23, whilst the likes of Eric Dier and Ben Davies have been pretty poor and made several mistakes.

RWB: Kieran Trippier

Tottenham have swapped between Pedro Porro and Emerson Royal at right-back this season, but neither player comes close to Trippier. He is defensively sound and also provides a serious goal threat.

CM: Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is one of the more underrated defensive midfielders in the Premier League. He is excellent in his defensive duties but can also provide a goal threat with runs into the box, scoring four and assisting four this season.

CM: Bruno Guimaraes

Bruno has taken up a slightly deeper position for Newcastle this season, which has slightly limited his attacking output. But he has still scored three and assisted four in the league, whilst progressing play well.

LWB: Ivan Perisic

Dan Burn has played well this campaign, but he is a centre-back by trade and offers little in attack. Perisic, meanwhile, has scored one and assisted seven in 29 PL ties.

RW: Miguel Almiron

Before his recent injury, Miguel Almiron was in fine form, netting 11 and assisting one in 25 games. He has now returned to action with a 34-minute cameo vs Aston Villa and is expected to start vs Spurs.

ST: Harry Kane

Aleksandr Isak and Callum Wilson have both shown their quality at times in 2022/23, but Harry Kane has 23 Premier League goals and two assists.

LW: Heung-min Son

Heung-min Son has been far from his best this season. But the South Korean has scored three and assisted four in his last five. And as Allan Saint-Maximum is injured, there is little competition for the South Korean.
