Newcastle United are in the midst of an excellent campaign.
The newly-minted club have spent well in the last two transfer windows, allowing Eddie Howe to build a solid starting line-up that can compete with most clubs in England.
At the time of writing, Newcastle sit 3rd in the Premier League table after 29 games. They are well off the pace of the title-chasing Manchester City and Arsenal, sitting 11 points off City and 17 off the Gunners.
However, Newcastle may be able to secure Champions League football ahead of 2023/24. The Magpies have 56 points from 29 games, whilst 5th place Tottenham have 53 from 30 games.
But what is Newcastle’s highest Premier League finish?
The North East outfit have been a midtable side for many years now, with a 10th place spot their highest finish in the last decade.
Newcastle also finished 2nd in 96/97, with a points total of 68. However, these were the days before sides needed over 90 points to win a league title, so a 2nd place finish is highly unlikely this time around.
