Large sections of the fanbase of Spanish giants Real Madrid made use of the opportunity to send a crystal clear message to defender Nacho during the club’s latest outing this evening.
For those not aware, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops are currently locked in a crunch derby showdown with capital rivals Atletico Madrid.
In the knowledge that anything other than a victory could prove detrimental to the club’s hopes of tracking down Clasico rivals Barcelona at the La Liga summit, Los Blancos, though, are currently locked in a goalless stalemate.
And yet, as alluded to above, despite the crucial nature of the matchup when it comes to their side’s domestic prospects for the term, on Saturday, many of a Real persuasion in attendance at the Bernabeu were keen to send a personalised message to one particular member of Ancelotti’s squad.
The player in question? Nacho Fernandez.
After enjoying a superb outing off the bench in the European champions’ downing of Liverpool at Anfield in midweek, defender Nacho was rewarded with a derby start at left-back.
This came as chants of ‘Nacho, stay’ were heard ringing around the stands.
