Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing up a move for soon to be free agent Roberto Firmino as they look to find cover for Karim Benzema ahead of the new season.
Los Blancos have already agreed a deal to bring teenage sensation Endrick to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer of 2024, when the player turns 18, but require cover in the more short term for the increasingly injured Benzema.
So far, the 35-year-old striker has missed 13 games of the La Liga season, and his influence on the side has reduced as a result, though he has still found the back of the net on 18 occasions in the Spanish top flight.
One option that the Spanish giants are considering is Firmino, who is leaving Liverpool this summer and will play his last game for the club against Southampton on Sunday afternoon, with the Brazilian calling time on his stint with the Anfield side after 8 years at the club.
According to reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, he is one of four or five names being considered by the Spanish sides, though he adds that ‘there are no negotiations as of now’.

It is unclear how much Real Madrid will have left in the coffers following the impending addition of compatriot Jude Bellingham, who is set to arrive from Borussia Dortmund.
This season, he has managed 10 goals in 24 Premier League appearances, and the only question for the former Hoffenheim forward is whether he would accept a bit-part role as he has at Liverpool.
