Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Julen Lopetegui has, on Friday night, provided an insight into the wellbeing of Matheus Cunha.
For those who may have missed it, attacker Cunha set alarm bells ringing across Wolves’ fanbase earlier this evening.
This came during the club’s Premier League meeting with Fulham.
En route to an eventual 1-1 stalemate at Craven Cottage, Cunha was forced into a premature exit from the action, owing to injury.
After picking up what appeared to be an ankle problem, the Brazilian – on loan in England’s Midlands from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid – saw his efforts to carry on prove to be on vain, ultimately culminating in the visitors’ medical team carrying Cunha from the field of play on a stretcher.

Speaking on the back of the full-time whistle in west London, Julen Lopetegui, in turn, was unsurprisingly asked for an update on the wellbeing of a player who, prior to his substitution, had been enjoying his finest showing in Wolves’ colours to date.
An MRI scan has therefore been pencilled in for the weekend, at which point the extent of the problem will become more clear.
