Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers have seen a significant offer for a key member of the midfield setup at Bristol City rejected, according to reports.

The player at the heart of the proposal in question? Alex Scott.

The name of youngster Scott, as those of a Wolves persuasion will be aware, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines at Molineux over the course of the last couple of weeks.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the 19-year-old, fresh off a fine season in The Championship with Bristol City, has been identified as a prime target by the powers that be in England’s west Midlands.

Wolves, in turn, recently moved forward with an opening offer of £18 million for his services.

But, after being rebuffed by their counterparts at Bristol City, Julen Lopetegui’s side were left with little choice but to up their bid.

This comes amid confirmation that an improved proposal for Scott, worth £20 million plus bonuses, was today knocked back.

The info comes courtesy of John Percy of The Telegraph, who has revealed that Bristol City are holding out for a sum of £25 million for the club’s crown jewel.

Wolves, it is added, have every intention of returning with a third bid, but must be wary of further suitors entering the fray, with a whole host of Premier League clubs understood to hold an interest in Scott’s signature.
