Wolves Team News
- Out: Saša Kalajdžić, Chiquinho
- Doubt: Nélson Semedo, Boubacar Traoré
Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui appears to have done enough to keep Wolves a part of the Premier League storyboard in 2023-23 as the midlands club comes into the weekend sitting 14th in the table and seven points clear of the drop zone with just four matches remaining on the docket.
Lopetegui’s men were unfortunately ruthlessly put to the sword last time out during a horrific 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Brighton during an away day on the south coast, but recent results against Crystal Palace, Brentford, and Chelsea still prove that the club is capable of extracting three points on their day.
A tough task comes in the form of Unai Emery’s high-flying Aston Villa at the weekend, with the Villains in with a chance of qualifying for Europe after they have come on leaps and bounds since the Spaniard’s arrival. Thankfully for Lopetegui, there are not a ton of headaches when it comes to the status of the senior squad, with just Saša Kalajdžić and Chiquinho the only players remaining out for an extended period. Questions persist on the availability of Nélson Semedo and Boubacar Traoré, particularly when it comes to Semedo who came off injured against Brighton. Currently listed as a doubt, if he passes a late assessment, he is sure to feature in the XI.
