Remarkable footage stemming from the aftermath of Ajax’s meeting of FC Twente has come to the fore late on Sunday evening.
For those not aware, Ajax made the trip to De Grolsch Veste earlier today, as part of the final round of fixtures of the Eredivisie season.
The capital giants headed into proceedings hoping for a miracle, with the club’s Champions League qualification hopes hanging by a thread.
When all was said and done, however, once more, Johnny Heitinga’s troops failed to rise to the occasion.
After Dusan Tadic opened the scoring just beyond the half-hour mark, a 2nd-half collapse ultimately culminated in Ajax being put to the sword by three goals to one.

As alluded to above, though, it was not the action on the pitch in Overijssel which caught attentions across the continent post-match.
As showcased below, footage has come to the fore, showcasing Ajax star Steven Berghuis appearing to punch a member of the Twente fanbase.
The Dutchman’s actions, it is understood, came after the fan in question shouted a horrid racial insult at Berghuis’ Ajax teammate, Brian Brobbey.
