Manchester United and Erik ten Hag set an impressive record with their 2-1 win over West Ham to reach the quarter finals of the FA Cup, where they will face Fulham.
Fresh off the back of a week that saw them knock Barcelona out of the Europa League and lift the Carabao Cup, their first piece of silverware under Ten Hag, the Red Devils looked to be heading out of the oldest cup competition when they fell 1-0 down to a resolute West Ham side and former boss David Moyes.
True to their impressive recent form, however, they turned it around, with a Nayef Aguerd goal restoring parity 13 minutes from time before Alejandro Garnacho came off the substitutes bench to put the Red Devils in the lead in the last minute of normal time.
As West Ham pushed for an equaliser, there was time for Fred to add a third deep into stoppage time, crowning what has been a memorable week for the Old Trafford faithful, and keeps United in with a shout of completing an unlikely quadruple.
In edging past the Londoners, Manchester United brought up their 30th win of the season in all competitions, despite having lost their first two Premier League games by an aggregate of 6-0 to Brentford and Brighton.
Even more impressively, those wins have come in just 41 games, which is the third fastest that they have ever reached that milestone (behind 2006-2007 and 2012-2013). In less good news, however, the Red Devils lifted the Premier League title in both of those seasons, something that looks a tall ask at present despite their fine form.
