Liverpool have reportedly tabled a £51m bid for Real Madrid star Federico Valverde this summer as they look to bolster their ranks in midfield after a disappointing campaign.
Not able to offer Champions League football next season, the Reds have already confirmed the addition of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton but are looking to add two more midfielders before the end of the summer transfer window.
With the arrival of Jude Bellingham at the Santiago Bernabeu, it seems as though they are hoping for some uncertainty over the future of Federico Valverde, who has been ousted from the right-flank by Rodrygo and could be dropped in favour of Bellingham in central midfield.
Long-time admirers of the Uruguayan midfielder, El Nacional report that the Reds have tabled a 60m euro (£51m) bid for the 24-year-old, who they believe would fit the bill perfectly at Anfield.

However, this has been rejected, with Real Madrid owner Florentino Perez warning that the midfielder would not be sold for anything less than 100m euros, the same fee that they have shelled out for Bellingham this summer.
Valverde himself may be reluctant to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer too, explaining last summer that ‘if they want me out of Real Madrid, they will have to kill me.’
They are also keen on adding a central defender to their ranks, with Goncalo Inacio one of those linked with an Anfield switch, while outgoings could see them move for a right-back and left-back too.
