Footage of the remarkable show of support put forth by the Borussia Dortmund faithful on the back of their side’s title collapse has come to the fore late on Saturday.
For those who may have missed it, the most remarkable of final days played to completion in Germany’s top-flight a short time ago.
Dortmund, for their part, welcomed Mainz to Signal Iduna Park, in the knowledge that one final three-point haul would see them break arch rivals Bayern Munich’s decade-long hold on the Bundesliga title.
When all was said and done, however, fresh heartbreak was instead forthcoming for all associated with BVB.
This came as a spirited 2nd-half comeback ultimately came up short, en route to a 2-2 Mainz stalemate.
Bayern Munich’s last-gasp triumph at Koln, in turn, ensured that the Bavarians leapfrogged Dortmund back to the division’s summit, in the process snatching the title at the last.

So long hailed as some of the very best supporters in Europe, however, the BVB faithful, instead, lived up to their reputation once more.
As showcased in the footage below, post-match, barely an empty seat could be spotted in North Rhine-Westphalia, as Edin Terzic’s squad were serenaded for a memorable, if ultimately disappointing campaign:
