Manchester United spent close to £200m on players during the summer transfer window as they look to build on their Champions League finish and League Cup triumph last time out.

So far, the Red Devils have seen little benefit from their big spending, with Mason Mount’s displays garnering criticism before his injury and Andre Onana not improving United’s defence record an awful lot.

Now, the Daily Mail have reported that Erik ten Hag’s agent, Kees Vos, has had an influence on transfer activity at Old Trafford through the Sports Entertainment Group (SEG) firm he co-founded in 2000. This has seen some United staff members express their concern over Vos’ growing involvement behind the scenes, as he is a regular visitor to Old Trafford and the club’s Carrington training ground.

However, it is added that United sources have insisted that senior officials at the club are comfortable with Vos’ position and his relationship with Ten Hag.

And though Ten Hag’s son Nigel also works for SEG as an analyst, United have pointed out that it is ‘not unusual’ for elite clubs to have strong connections with specific agencies.
