Liverpool have entered into negotiations with Premier League rivals Brighton & Hove Albion over the signing of Moises Caicedo, according to reports.

It is of course common knowledge that the powers that be on the red half of Merseyside are on the lookout for reinforcements in the middle of the park.

Owing to a combination of injury concerns and simple loss of form on the part of the Reds’ current crop of midfield options, the addition of fresh blood has emerged as something of a priority for Jurgen Klopp and co.

And Caicedo, widely regarded as one of English football’s finest up-and-coming talents, is one such midfielder understood to have been identified as a potential reinforcement by the Liverpool hierarchy.

As per a report from Mach Deportes in Caicedo’s home country of Ecuador, the Reds have opened talks with their Brighton counterparts, over the possibility of bringing the 21-year-old to Anfield next month:

“The ‘Moi Boy’ could wear red‼️ Liverpool started talks with Brighton to finalize the hiring of Moisés Caicedo. Liverpool would be willing to pay 60 million pounds sterling for the pass of Moisés Caicedo.”
